Good evening, for a couple of weeks I have been hosting a Yamaha G2 baby grand (I believe it is from '74) at my home.
Provisionally, due to space reasons, I have placed it in a small attic room with a wooden roof and floor. (House expansion works are planned and I will move it).
The instrument was tuned 10 days after arrival. The sound is overall good. I will definitely have to change a B-flat (third octave) that has an ugly sound.
The real problem I am encountering is an annoying vibration/buzz/drone that I notice when playing the central F/F# area. The buzzing occurs ONLY with the una corda pedal and especially with the sustain pedal. Since I am studying Schubert's Impromptus op.90 no.3, this is quite nerve-wracking!
I have tried recording the lid screws, looking in here and there, but I just don't understand. It is an extremely subtle and inconsistent disturbance!
Does anyone have an idea?
Thank you very much to everyone
