In my opinion, it would be unfair in the sense that it would be (and is) reserved for niche music. Obviously, better than a kick in the face ... just as Dario Fo was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature, there should exist something equivalent for music.
In fact, if I am not mistaken, Ennio Morricone has the Nobel Prize for Music. What it consists of, how to get it assigned, when they assign it, etc ... I don't know

During the second world war, she was hired as a plumber in the concentration camps, but she had an ulterior motive; since she had intuited the Nazi "plans," she used her van and her bulky bags to hide children inside, kept in the van itself along with a dog that was trained to bark at all the soldiers who, a bit annoyed by the dog, never checked the back of the vehicle.
Thus she saved more than 2,500 children, but when she was discovered, her legs and arms were broken; nevertheless, she did not give up her mission, burying a glass jar in her garden containing the list of all the children's names, searching for their parents and relatives.
She passed away at the age of 98. The Nobel Prize is not always given to those who truly deserve it...
