Hi guys..
Lately I've been recording vocal tracks, it's spoken word (over 30 minutes)..
The volume ranges between -12 and -6 dB, but there are peaks at -3 and above that I have to correct manually every time.
So, I separate the "peak zone" and lower it with the gain by two or more dB, to make everything homogeneous..
The thing is, following this procedure I waste a lot of time, so I'm asking you: "do you know a faster way to achieve the same result"?

Perfect! I thought I had to work manually before applying the comp. and the limiter.... better this way!
Otherwise, I had found a non-destructive "normalize" function to apply to the single region, or to the entire track, thus obtaining a normalization to 0db, then with the gain I would lower it to -4 or -6, but perhaps it is extra work that can be avoided!

Yours is a very artificial solution. With compression and limiter everything becomes more natural and soft, naturally setting it as it should be set.
