OCSE Study: half of Italians are illiterate

Until the instruction leaflet, I'll get there... so am I in the “right” half?

Jokes aside, I'm starting to understand many things and anyway it seems like a fairly relevant thing to me ......

I believe that relying on the understanding of a package leaflet (it is not a problem to understand the dosage as much as, sometimes, finding it in a sea of incomprehensible information [and invisible given the tiny font] for 99% of people) or an instruction sheet (often poorly translated from a foreign language or accompanied by approximate drawings) is at least makeshift: it is clear that at the OECD they have nothing better to do.

The first sentence of the article is also emblematic: "Assembling a bike saddle? Better alone than following the instructions". Perhaps it is the instructions themselves that are "illiterate".

Ah. I did a quick test on my mother, a woman with only a simple elementary school certificate: she immediately caught the dosage (she even knew the technical term) of 5 out of 5 drugs.

An invitation to the OECD and dozens of other world, continental, state, and so on organizations: fewer gala dinners and fewer meetings around the world. Millions and millions of euros wasted.

All of this happens, in my judgment, when everything is staked on technocracy.

Imbeciles with this cell phone/ipad in hand everywhere.

They have world libraries of the human race like YouTube and yet they complain because "the professor explains poorly" or "in high school they didn't teach it to me".

I do not measure a person's culture by the quantity of books (electronic or even electronic links) that they possess.

Then there is something else to say.

The OECD speaks in statistics and unfortunately, when talking about human beings, it is not their strong suit.
