"I don't think Sebastian was a very easy person to get to know, unless one loved him. And if I had not loved him from the beginning, I certainly would never have understood him. He expressed little on profound subjects; it was not through his words that one understood that severe and musical soul: only music could provide the explanation." [Anna Magdalena Bach - Little Chronicle]

Incredible testimony ... "Only music could provide the explanation".

I would never have suspected it of JS Bach

Thank you! It is beautiful.

as for me, inside myself, I was sure of it . . . "Only music could provide the explanation".

But (barring any corrections regarding sources, authenticity, etc.) hearing it "from the mouth" of Anna Magdalena . . . is moving.

You are right: an incredible testimony.

Let's say that 99% of experts agree that the Little Chronicle of Anna Magdalena Bach is a forgery, but there are details so precise and real (almost tangible) that it always leaves a doubt that it might all be true, and anyway it is another way to get to know the great composer ... in short, it perhaps makes him appear more human

I leave this

(Sebastiano) considered society and civilization founded on order: according to him everything had to be based on order, home, music, and fatherland. When he had to set words to music that dealt with order and duty, he always did so with enthusiasm. He said: "Neither love nor beauty are worthy of their name without law, order, and obedience".
