Yes, in the end I included the choir (Altos and tenors). During the orchestration, I thought it would be nice as a "final surprise" to add the choir over the "evocative" harmonies in the second part.

Ok, but then I suggest you provide an "or" in the score, in case one wants/can perform it without the choir...

Very formally speaking, it is not quite an 'orchestration' because it has two or three harp glissandi that, clearly, Bach did not write; it could therefore be considered a partial elaboration but, I imagine, these are subtleties.

I agree with Carlos, the idea of the choir surprise is beautiful; if one really wanted to use it, it would be nice to give them some parts even beforehand
