Hello everyone.

I need to build a piano hammer rail with only 6 strings

Its function is similar to the one shown in the photo below:

Does anyone have an idea where I can find the components to assemble?

If they cannot be found commercially, can I build them somehow?

Everything must be robust and very lightweight.

Thanks to whoever answers me.

Federico Berti.

Someone who doesn't know what to do with it, perhaps a straight-strung piano or one that is not worth undertaking a restoration!!!!! Institutes, very elderly people, forgotten family pianos, heavily damaged pianos (cracked frame, flooded, etc...)

Happy hunting

thank you very much, but I was hoping for something else: I would like to find a retail outlet that allows me to purchase spare parts directly; restorers must have to obtain them somehow...

Yes, but assembling is difficult and the keys are made entirely for the whole keyboard. There are no spare parts for 6 keys and six hammers. Therefore, it is better to look in scrap.

Ah, thank you. Seeing the video you put on the website about grand piano mechanics, I thought that hammers and mechanisms were also sold separately. For goodness' sake, I can even build them myself, but it would have been interesting to be able to buy them already made... Too bad, I really don't know where to find pianos for scrap, it's easier to build them myself... thanks for the advice!

I hammers and rests I can procure for you... but making the keys is difficult and it is difficult to build such a model of at least six keys. You can check out the Renner house, but I believe it is very expensive. Keep in mind that the model used for the courses costs quite a bit, even if the individual parts do not cost much. I cannot open the photo. Send me another one.

If you can't open the photo, look up Jesse Fuller on Google Images, you'll find something. Thanks for the information, now I'm thinking about how to resolve this: as soon as I have news I'll let you know, okay? Thanks in the meantime.

from this site you can also purchase individual parts (stands, nuts etc.)....but the price is high.
