Good morning everyone! I joined this forum looking for a comparison with you colleagues during these days of sad confinement!

What do you think of Sciarrino? I like him very much, I am trying to decipher his famous graphics.

Do you know what I'm talking about? He writes music not on a staff but uses large sheets where he "draws" the score, except that you have to figure out how this drawing becomes music...

A well-known violist told me that Sciarrino learned to compose music with these drawings because he does not have an academic musical background. I don't know if this is entirely true, but I certainly seem to understand that in a single drawing, he manages to concentrate the entire piece in its entirety!
