Tinkering here and there across various stores, this thought occurred to me. In the sense that, practically and logically speaking, producing a self-published text is quite simple (assuming, of course, that one has interesting things to publish). And then? Once the file is created? If I want to release it on the market SOLELY as an e-book, what are the next steps to take?
Anyway, it costs only a few euros and is assigned by the Agency for the Italian language area, which is owned by AIE - Associazione Italiana Editori (if I am not mistaken managed by Ediser srl (http://www.ediser.it/), a service company of AIE).
For each code, the publisher (this is the key point) must fill out a form in which they specify the characteristics of the book: author, series, format, number of pages, price, technical characteristics, and even a brief presentation.
For more information and to request codes, consult the ISBN Agency website: www.isbn.it
