Question about Chopin, Nocturne in C# minor op. Posthume

Good morning to all the pianists, musicians and composers of the forum.

I have a doubt.

In Chopin's posthumous nocturne, in C# minor at the eighth measure, (http://www.music-scores.com/graphics/ch_noc_20a.gif)

aligned with the A of the right hand, the left hand performs an F# minor 6^ arpeggio (please correct me if I am wrong).

The question is:

Why do many pianists start the arpeggio from F and others from D#?

Is it a matter of interpretative taste, different editions, or is there a more rigorous harmonic justification?

I am all ears for your opinions.

^6?? is it just me being half-asleep or is that person in a fundamental state?? regarding why I fear there are actually various versions, I encountered one regarding the waltz op 69 n 2....

Pianist who? Isn't it just that they play it by mistake? Anyway, the double version theory is plausible... one should verify it on more reliable sources for Chopin.

Hi Stellina,

one of the many is Janusz Olejniczak. That is, a pianist who played for Polanski's film The Pianist.

For example, for my personal taste, I prefer to put the sixth in the bass.

The edition published by Dover features a nice D#

Therefore, the hypothesis of a transcription error is credible, so I would check against the Pederewski editions which I do not have on hand at this moment
