I did not approve the choice to steer the program towards a rose-water "contemporaneity." The prime time slot, between the reinterpretations of Gabrieli (well done in all honesty), the tedious seagulls of Rautavaara (I won't tell you what they remind me of), and a piece by Part that intended to be mystic-new age (but worse than usual)... represented very little of today's art music.

I am not defending anyone, quite the contrary, but I believe that deciding what to play from a perspective of "contemporaneity" is always complex... it is a sooo vast repertoire
