hi everyone, I am a music enthusiast, I am 49 years old and I have just purchased logic. I am having difficulty recording the vocal track; to my knowledge, I have an electrovoice mc 100 microphone that goes directly into the mac. There is a loud background hum that ruins the recording, what can I do? thanks everyone

Remove the ground... To do this, create an extension cord where you connect the brown and blue wires to the outlet, but not the yellow/green one—in practice, not the center wire of the plug—and then connect the Mac to this. The background hum should disappear. In any case... To record vocals, you need much more than just a microphone plugged into the Mac. At a minimum, you need a 24-bit 96 kHz audio interface with balanced XLR inputs and phantom power, and a good condenser microphone. Then you will begin to appreciate the audio quality.
