First of all, I wanted to congratulate the pianoexpert thesimon staff for these exquisite lessons on transmission mechanics; in particular, I am asking our pianoexpert: why, in the previous video, did I notice that one damper lever of the tail had weights and the other was without them? Is it for the sake of better balancing?
Furthermore, I wanted to know when we move the right pedal of the upright piano, we actuate that damper mechanism, but how does it happen? And the left pedal acts on the mechanism where the hammer stiles rest... but how does it work? Also, what does 'capotasto' (plate) mean in a piano?

The weights are present only on the damper mechanism of the grand piano. They serve to make the dampers descend in the correct way, especially in the bass and mid ranges.
When we move the right pedal, a rod, which is not present on these models, raises all the dampers simultaneously and puts the strings into resonance. The rod rests at the bottom on the white felt that also receives the spoon.
The nut is the point where the string determines its length. In fact, the length of the string goes from the bridge on one side to the nut on the other.
