Dear Pianoexpert, there is a reason why some grand piano actions have 4, 5, or 6 repetitions of the action frame, so that the hammer compartments are divided into 3, 4, or 5 registers.

It depends on how the Cast Iron frame is designed. Larger ones need an extra crossbar. But it's not a rule regardless.
