hi everyone,

small question: with Finale 2014, is it possible to remove the measure numbers that are usually found at the beginning of each staff, by default?

also....when writing a percussion part (on a single monographic staff), is it possible to remove the two vertical bars that appear (instead of the clef) at the beginning of each staff?

thanks and happy practicing!

Musical staff tool (violin clef icon)

Double click with the left mouse button on the staff you are interested in

In the "Elements to display" section, uncheck: Bar numbers and clefs

thanks frank!

i managed to remove the 'clefs' by unchecking 'clefs';

as for the numbers, instead, I don't understand why they won't go away; I unchecked 'measure numbers' but everything remains unchanged.

i'll try tinkering around a bit more. anyway, thanks again!

By doing what you suggest, the numbers don't go away?

Dthey should change color (to light gray) so as not to be printable on paper

ah ok, then. I managed to 'fade them'. My main interest is that the numbers do not appear on the print.

never mind. thanks everyone

I am not at the computer right now, but if you select the instrument with the 4/4 pause measure icon, and go to the corresponding menu at the top, you can manage the bar number "regions". You just have to delete the current region... I hope I have been clear enough...

Tools, measures, edit bar number regions, select the default one and delete it

For me, it is convenient to see the numbers in the score, with the hiding system so that if you print on paper or as a PDF they will not be seen.
