O Friends . . .
i didn't know where to post this, and I thought here: in light music. Oh well
A friend pointed this out to me
thirty minutes of music alone. I didn't know it (also because I have never seen a single episode of Star Wars, not even five minutes). And yet I like this music!
For me it "works" even without the film... what do you think?

I think you should have posted it in Contemporary Music because John Williams, although especially known for his beautiful film soundtracks, in addition to being a conductor, has composed art music in every sense. And his own soundtracks have a clear scholarly lineage. It is enough to say that one of his teachers was Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco and, I have already said it all.
Specifically, the Star Wars music is ... beautiful!

What I did, however, want to share was the fact that since I have never seen the scenes for which this music was composed, I find myself in the condition - a rather rare one, I think - of a person of a certain age who listens to music ignoring . . . the "pretext" (so to speak).
A bit like someone listening to the Pastoral Symphony without knowing that it is pastoral, and the titles of the movements

Music is not always able to be truly autonomous from images because when it is created, not everything always depends on it... some pieces eventually manage to keep the listener's interest alive on their own, in other cases less so.
