I noticed on my Yamaha U3H that when I press the right pedal, all the dampers release from the strings by a certain amount, except for one that rises much less..... in my opinion, the only reason could be that the felt where the bar pushes is either grooved or worn out.. Do you agree?
Furthermore, I kindly ask you for some data.
1) In your opinion, by how much should the dampers release from the strings when the pedal is pressed?
2) After the damper has released from the string due to the effect of the pedal, how much further should it retreat if I press the key (therefore the action of the shuttle/lever)?

...of course it rises later compared to all the other dampers...otherwise, it would be enough to screw the butterfly screw above the pedal to make them all retract.
I removed the action and everything was okay. When I reassembled it in the piano, the damper would rise late...
It was nothing other than the metal bar of the Damper being too bent forward, which prevented the damper rod from returning to its resting position, but instead staying slightly raised ......so the pedal bar was hitting it after the others.
You should never touch it at that point; if the damper is the flat type, there is minimal risk, but in other cases, you would have definitely lost the damping.
Which is strange, because if they were all aligned with the mechanism removed ....well
