L'Accademia degli Oscuri, the ProLoco of Torrita di Siena, the Circolo Acli of Torrita di Siena, the Compagnia Teatro Giovani Torrita and SetteNoteInsieme, with the collaboration of the Società Bibliografica Toscana and under the patronage of the Province of Siena and the Municipality of Torrita di Siena, organize "Rosso di Sera 2014 - Music and more in Valdichiana".

Saturday, July 12, 2014, at 9:00 PM, the second edition of Rosso di Sera will begin. This year, the festival will consist of a series of four concerts and is enriched by an international music campus. The guest maestros will be Nicholas Jones on cello, who will kick off the event with the July 12 concert featuring a program dedicated to Johann Sebastian Bach, Fauré, Saint Saens, and Manuel De Falla. The second concert, Saturday, July 19, 2014, will feature the close-knit duo composed of Franco Mezzena and Nancy Barnaba (violin duo), who will present a fun program with music by Wieniawski, Trabucco, Viotti, and Lelclair. The following Saturday (July 26) will feature opera singer Gabriella Costa, who will sing pieces from the classical repertoire, famous arias such as "Lascia ch'io pianga," and works by Federico Garcia Lorca. Among the composers, we will hear Mompou, Villa Lobos, Handel, Bach, and Drozd. The closing concert will feature Massimo Mercelli on flute and Edoardo Catemario on guitar on Saturday, August 2, 2014. The program they will propose is brilliant and engaging. The duo will perform Schubert's Arpeggione, a Mozart sonata, and the entire second part will be dedicated to Piazzolla.

The international campus, a new addition to this edition, will see these maestros serving as teachers throughout the month of July. Masterclasses will be held at the theater and will be taught by Franco Mezzena from July 14 to 19, by Edoardo Catemario and Michael Lewin (teacher and director of the strings department at the Royal Academy in London) from July 13 to 19, and by Gabriella Costa from July 27 to 31.

The concerts will be held at the Teatro degli Oscuri in piazza Matteotti 10 in Torrita di Siena at 9:00 PM. The entrance ticket is €15.
