Hi everyone, I would like to know if any of you are familiar with this piano brand because my neighbor has one and wants to sell it. It is an upright with a nice cabinet, NON-drop action mechanism, quite worn out as it has several stuck keys, a broken hammer and, less importantly, the felt of the practice pedal is gone; the strings are quite oxidized and perhaps should be replaced, I don't know if it holds its tuning and the rest remains to be seen since I haven't inspected everything.

I'm being honest: the brand is unknown to me. But of course, if the strings are worn out and you think it won't hold its tuning, I should already give a negative judgment. Replacing strings and pins is expensive, and you have to make sure the soundboard isn't cracked. And the action? And the hammer rail? Let's see some photos, if you can send them.

The condition is pitiful ... some hammers have felt worn down to the wood, one is broken.
I noticed the type of pilot used consisting of a countersunk flat-head screw and a small strip of felt on top of it (missing on some keys)
The action needs complete restoration and hammers need to be replaced along with the dampers
From the type of action used, I believe (please confirm) that the piano dates back to the early 1900s. 🙂
The soundboard seems not to have cracks or fissures, but I cannot understand its tension state!
It would be nice to bring it back to the splendor of its time, even if at the moment I am unable to determine the tuning stability. In your opinion, is it worth it?? Just a rough guess.
I am sorry to disappoint you, but we are dealing with a straight-string piano! I don't think it can hold the tuning. Furthermore, I see that it requires an internal restoration and I wouldn't spend large sums to have it restored. However, check the condition of the tuning fork and its stability.
An external restoration + keyboard has already been done; I wouldn't go any further. Commercially, it cannot be quoted.

What can I say maestro, it was a beautiful experience to enter the heart of this instrument and understand many important construction aspects. Furthermore, your opinion has taught me many things.
