Good morning everyone and congratulations on the expertise you demonstrate in various discussions. I would like to take advantage of your expertise to ask for advice on the price at which to sell a 1970 Schimmel upright piano. The piano was purchased new by my father-in-law in 1971 and has always been used only by my wife until it was replaced, in use, by a Tallone grand piano. Since that day, it has been played occasionally, and for almost 30 years now it has been playing the somewhat undignified role of a piece of furniture in my parents-in-law's dining room. My parents-in-law are moving, and at this point there is no use moving the piano as well, which no one will ever use again; the intention would therefore be to sell it without making a profit, but without undervaluing its real worth too much. We have done some research on the web but we haven't been able to get an idea of a correct selling price, so I am asking you for advice.
I am attaching some photos; the piano is in good general condition, it only has two issues to fix, both visible in the photos: the first is the stool, which has a tear in the seat covering, the second is the right leg (in the photo I have rotated it) whose upper attachment has broken and therefore it is free to rotate on its axis.
