Do you mean exercise 1, the circled one? The sevenths are all prepared in the previous chord, regardless of what kind of seventh it is, and they all resolve by descending step.

E.g.: the first chord is C major, the 3rd degree (E) is held over and becomes a 7th of the 4th species on the second chord (F) and resolves by descending to D; in turn, the 3rd degree of F (A) is the seventh of B (VII of the 3rd species) and you hold it over and it descends by step, and so on for the entire sequence of sevenths in progression.
