hello everyone,

as can be seen from the post title, I am a SIAE member.

Now, setting aside the fact that there are alternatives to SIAE for the protection of one's works (which are much more convenient),

I would like to try to make sense of something.

a few days ago I received the bulletin for the payment of the membership fee for the year 2014
and the amount is €152.00 (stated - it is written - as the difference between the amount of the fee due and

eventually what has already been withheld by SIAE).

Now, I do not have a large number of performances (of the tracks I have deposited) but I still remember having

completed (and had completed) a sufficient number of bordeaux [performance statements] reporting my scheduled tracks.
further back a few years, this allowed me to fully (or almost) cover the annual membership fee

(before it had undergone this significant increase, though!).

so, I wanted to know:

1) how much is the current annual membership fee net of earnings? that is, a member who has €0.00 in earnings per year, how much will they have to pay to continue being a SIAE member?

2) on the payment notice (which accompanies the bulletin), it is written that it is possible to view all useful information regarding one's SIAE position online, including accounting information (following the procedure for issuing a username and password - which I have completed). Could you indicate to me, on the website www.siae.it, where the page dedicated to this function is located?

N.B. I asked for the same information via email directly from SIAE; but knowing the speed of the

SIAE offices, I am trying to move on multiple fronts. Last time, for a simple clarification, I

had to wait about 2 months!

anyway, if this information can be useful to the users of the site, as soon as I have solved the mystery,

I will share the information.

thanks, have a good summer and good music

I haven't quite managed to get to the bottom of the matter yet - essentially, I am still waiting for a reply email from SIAE.

In the meantime, however, browsing calmly through the SIAE website, I read that yes, it is possible to view one's own accounting situation online, provided one registers on the site as an ASSOCIATED USER.

The registration process involves reading and accepting a contract (which is sent via email after submitting the registration request) and completing a self-certification form. The two paper documents must then be sent by mail to the SIAE central headquarters in Rome.

I was particularly struck by Art. 2 of the contract, which reads as follows:

"The use of the Services is offered free of charge to all SIAE Associates or Principals for as long as the associative or mandate relationship lasts. However, SIAE reserves the right to eventually apply fees that may be decided by the Board of Directors for the use of the Services or for certain specific ones among them that are currently offered or that may be offered in the future, subject to notice to the User at the time of publication of the new specific paid service or with at least 30 days' notice prior to the activation of the paid formula."
