am I interrupting your holiday digestion? to ask you for some advice: I have prepared and provided my students with some mp3 backing tracks as support for studying the respective musical pieces at home, in view of potential public performances. these backing tracks have a certain tempo, sometimes even quite fast.
the more talented ones have no difficulty studying with them; many others, however, especially in the initial phase of study, would like to be able to have adequately slowed-down backing tracks available.
since I own a MacBook Pro, I use Transcribe and, in principle, I could slow them down myself.
however, I would like to make my students more independent, not by offering them "ready-made food" but by putting them in a position to "prepare it" themselves?
the majority of them use computers with the Windows operating system; could you recommend a software that is STRICTLY free and useful for this purpose? I emphasize STRICTLY because I would like to have the link published on my school's official website.
naturally, plan B consists of uploading the slowed-down backing tracks to the same site; but first, I would at least like to try to make plan A a reality.
