Ciao!

Buon Ascolto!

So it is a natural minor that becomes harmonic; anyway, American soundtracks (and especially trailers) are now inflated with the usual atmospheres.

It's not necessarily to talk about what I have done, but I have written a few pieces with 300 changes of atmosphere, which do not turn out predictable in the points where

one expects them, but there is nothing to be done; usually the phrase I hear is "too many rhythm changes, too many sounds, it should have been simpler", even a Dies Irae

I wrote, using electronic, acoustic, and symphonic sounds; I should "fix" it a bit, but it has its own coherence, as it actually reprises a theme from a piece belonging to the

same concept. It is obvious, of course, that I didn't write it properly, and I didn't claim to do so, but I think it can be well placed in the footsteps (but not predictable ones)

of the pieces one might listen to when dealing with certain soundtracks.

When I write that type of piece, I like to use sequences and arpeggios of synthesizer sounds, perhaps mixed with string parts, French horns, or soloists, and along with these

electric guitar parts; I repeat, these are not pieces with a defined and well-structured formal connotation, but if we want to call them collages, works in progress, that's how I feel like writing

when I make that type of music, and at least there I try to feel as free as possible, but without using the shortcuts that software provides, otherwise it is no longer inventiveness or an attempt

at invention, but a copy and paste.

Sooner or later I will let you hear it; years ago I let someone listen to only one part (cut even more, moreover, but I was told that I wrote it poorly, and the effect I wanted to give I obtained badly,

a thing I never said, moreover, and above all I did not draw inspiration from Subsonica as I was told, but from what I felt like doing, and I am not afraid (in this case) to say that I sought atmospheres that would catch the listener a bit by surprise, while remaining mindful that we are not talking about symphonies, or pieces written with a certain criterion, but for the pure pleasure of making music with a PC.

What you have proposed is not bad, especially for those breaks inserted in the middle of the "dramatic" part; I understood, and tell me if I'm wrong, that you wanted to re-propose in a certain sense the usual atmospheres, the usual sounds, but interspersed with ironic sparks, as if to say "you're tired of the same old story", do something alternative.

Exactly: I did it to ironize and "downplay" the various crescendos!

I would love to listen to the piece you are describing, you've made me curious!

Yes, I already have it ready, I also used the East West Choir, but I made mistakes writing certain parts, so I need to fix it, and if I don't get stuck reviewing it all, it will take me 10 minutes and I'll leave it just as I wrote it.

Anyway, there are 7 pieces, it's a concept, and Dies is the 6th, I also used the VSL French horns, they are much more realistic.

Even if well conducted... the "ironic" part irritates me a little.

I like Americans, but as far as the natural minor scale is concerned ... it corresponds to a modal scale already known in the Middle Ages, even when they were still to be "discovered" ...

Well sure, I also have a Music History course under my belt!

Does the ironic part irritate you? bingoooooo

I'll add this:

The second ironic part is taken from the first part on the air of 'La Follia' by the great Frescobaldi!
