Good morning,

what could be the causes, and therefore what checks / adjustments can be made to reduce the sound decay time upon releasing a key? Here I am releasing a simple video where I compare two sounds: Eb3 and C4 of my grand piano. The Eb3 has a longer sound decay compared to the C4. The damping effect is present but it results as

Thank you Mr. Paolo! I confirm, the last bass key does not dampen correctly, so there is a slight reverb. Now, to help it rest better on the string, it is sufficient to act on the screw that locks the damper rod to lower it... or maybe it's just sluggish due to lack of lubrication?

first of all you have to center it and then see if it is so lazy that it doesn't move. See if it falls well and well centered, without impediments
