Is there a difference between studying a classical piece and one of light music (a song)??....For the classical piece, you need to make variations and metronome scales starting from slow tempos....for the song, is there a faster procedure or must you do the same thing as for a classical piece??

Hi Daniele, I am of the opinion that studying is always studying regardless of the type of piece... I believe that light music pieces are simpler than classical pieces (or at least it is so, barring exceptional cases), which means that with the same study method, you will be faster at putting together a light music piece compared to a classical one. In any case, I do not agree with studying with rhythmic variations. Studying slowly is fine, the metronome can be useful in some cases, but if you have the sense of rhythm and tempo inside you, the metronome is absolutely not necessary during practice. It helps, but one must not become its slave. As for rhythmic variations, in my case, they have never given me any kind of benefit.
