The one I showed is actually that, it is produced by a company called Class, a leader in footwear accessories, so it is curious that after seeing it, people say it isn't even suitable for shoes....

I only expressed my opinion on the fact that I would not use a brass-bristle brush, of any kind, on the hammers of my pianos or those of my friends, and all hell broke loose. Perhaps because users' opinions here are not well received. There are those who take a high horse and give their lessons without contradiction... but isn't this a forum?

Must one argue, provide details, and eventually declare one's identity? In a forum where everyone writes about everything regarding a profession that is only learned in a workshop under the guidance of experts, where everyone improvises as technicians and repairers by working on piano mechanics after watching videos made on scale models? On these grounds, what is there to argue? Everyone expresses their own opinion as happens in all forums without anyone taking offense; I have never disrespected anyone or said that what Pianoexpert writes is wrong, furthermore, everyone is free to do whatever they want with their own instruments.

Mine was not a provocation or a challenge, but just an invitation to show something even regarding assembled mechanics or instruments; you did it once on the occasion of the tuning tutorial and some technicians commented expressing more than one perplexity, even regarding the use of the wrench if I remember correctly... because it is normal that when one exposes oneself, especially on the web, there will be someone who thinks differently.... one must accept everyone's opinions without elevating oneself to the caste of Brahmins.

Liquid graphite can be applied but only to the wooden parts (escapement upright, vertical heels, etc.). For the rollers and on felt and leather parts, graphite sticks are appropriate. I haven't seen the liquid one around and I believe it must be ordered through suppliers. As far as I know, there is no gradation. When it dries, it must be polished with a felt roller. A very thin layer must be applied. Generally, it is diluted with alcohol. Dry Teflon spray is recommended for mechanical parts (rods, pedals, etc.). Graphite sticks can be found, soft, in fine arts stores. On the rollers, after cleaning them, rub them lightly with the sticks to avoid that little noise that the uprights can make (like a squeak) when they reach the escapement moment.

I use powdered graphite; I bought it at a hardware store.

Piano manufacturers also use it in the factory, on the bridge and other parts.

This results in better string smoothness and also increases tuning stability.
