I wanted to include this post in the staff communications, but considering the initiative and its content, I could only include it in "Thoughts and words in freedom."
You may have noticed that for a few hours now, on the Google home page, below the search field, the following text has been displayed:
"Want a free and open web? Ask the world's governments to leave it that way."
Perhaps some of you do not know that this month at the ITU (International Telecommunication Union), the political bodies responsible for internet regulation will be meeting. Internet users, engineers, programmers from all over the world—the people who represent the internet population—will have no right to vote.
This is yet another attack on democracy, following the also scandalous law on journalists, by THIEVES who must succeed in silencing the only place left where anyone can say whatever they want.
I recommend that all interested parties support the cause on Google. In a short time (a few hours), they have already gathered almost three million signatures.
This matter is very important... And it concerns everyone.
Hill: "Google invents stories". "The story of freedom of expression is completely made up by Google", Hill explains, "the telcos have been honest, openly declaring that they are losing money and wanting to rebalance the situation. Freedom of expression is guaranteed by the ITU Constitution, a superior document that cannot be contradicted". Behind the complaints about possible restrictions on online freedom, there would therefore be Google's interest in maintaining the economic status quo. "At WCIT, there are propositions of all kinds, not just the Etno ones. Proposals and counter-proposals coming from every country, which in the ITU tradition will reach a synthesis that suits everyone".
Sure Hill! Yeah, right! In a period of Global Economic Crisis where institutions all over the world no longer know how to recover money to give to banks and tax the people until they are left penniless, you want us to believe that telecommunications companies are willing to lose money and perform the pious act of "rebalancing the situation".
... Don't talk bullsh*t!! Here is another abuse of the media to convince the masses. Here is how things actually are... The first rule at the base of economics is to make it to the end of the day, differentiate between giving and having, and always try to close in the having. Any decision to modify something that already works on the part of a company, an entity, or anything else must be driven by the idea of increasing revenue, and there are studies that even plan the amount of additional revenue compared to the previous situation. In this case, the revenue is regulated by the fact that in some states, certain websites will have to pay to be readable; that is where the profit lies.
