It might seem strange, but it really is like this: this morning I was playing on my piano, I was jotting down some ideas when at a certain point I leaned on the keyboard and I spontaneously played three notes, three simple notes: C, E, G, a simple C major.
I realized that even today it gives me emotion; if I then play the same chord with a slightly special position (for musicians, with a left-hand tenth) on an acoustic grand piano, well, the emotion becomes even greater.
And then.....just add one note to the right hand, a simple D, and then the chord becomes something current, modern, fascinating.
The power of harmony, that thing that clothes every sound, every melody; a garment suitable for every season and every time.
Harmony, or rather the essence of music.
