Hello everyone,
I wanted to ask you for some advice regarding the three-year degree (Bachelor's). I am supposed to apply for admission to the academic three-year program, but this has brought many more doubts to my mind than I could have expected.
The first is about the choice of study path. I have always studied piano and it is what I am most passionate about, but the path of composition has also always intrigued me. The problem is that I cannot understand which of the two paths to choose, so I wanted to get an opinion from you perhaps on what these two paths offer! Many have told me that composition is "useless" because they teach ancient compositional techniques that are not required to enter the composition sector, but I would like to have some more opinions!
The second is about the choice of conservatory. Wanting to delve into the world of music from a professional point of view and not just an informative one, I would like to have an idea of which conservatories can offer me greater momentum, namely those that can put me in contact with teachers/people capable of helping me on my path. Primarily, I analyzed Catania because it is the closest to me, but even though people speak well of it, I would also like to get some more opinions here.
For the rest, I know that the choice must be mine alone, but if I can perhaps get your opinions, I can start to clear my head and make the choice that might interest me—I won't say the "right" one, because in this case there is no right choice!
Thanks in advance!
