You have to accept it Viola, one's own taste cannot be universal. We understood that red (and its "shades") does not please you.

And if I had played Liszt at 14 like Francesca, even a thong (red) would have been fine.

Just yesterday I was at a wedding. As you know, weddings and funerals are the occasion to see relatives you haven't seen for a long time. A cousin of my father who traveled through the Soviet Union—it was called that back then—and China, commenting on her niece's slit, said that as early as the first years of the 60s—of the last century, naturally—she was struck by the fact that in China, Chinese women always went around with large slits in their skirts.

Ergo, it is therefore quite evident that for Chinese culture, dressing in that way is an indication of maximum elegance, and thus the decision of this pianist is natural and consequential, considering that almost 60 years have passed in the meantime.

But regardless of that: I return to repeat—even in light of certain bigoted and integralist statements that I have read here—freedom is the most important value we can pursue, and for the freedom of each one of us, it is truly worth spending a lifetime.

Despite the "efforts," it is always difficult to understand another person's choices... much less if this person belongs to a culture very different from our own.
