Dear Paolo (PIANOEXPERT) why do some grand pianos have a square tail instead of a rounded one?.. are the legs of the grand piano screwed into the soundboard at a certain angle of inclination to better withstand the tension of the strings to which they are screwed?

The shape of the tails is a "fact" of tradition. Naturally, the ankles have a slight inclination, as you well noted.
