Speaking of "classical" music, I see the most effective connection with Wagner; if we speak of music born during the war years or nearly so, perhaps Jazz is one of the most representative. Swing served as a sort of soundtrack (at least for Americans) to that period.

Some of Wagner's writings seem to have a decidedly antisemitic character and, starting from this premise, it is possible to find this vision also in some of his music. This would explain Hitler's love for the German composer's music.
