While remaining firm that money spent on culture is well spent a priori, are we sure that these specific ghost orchestras deserve the cash while others risk closure?
Shall we go in front of the San Carlo to set up tents like the indignados?
I emphasize that this "extraordinary" funding was actually made possible by cutting the sum from the FUS (single fund for performing arts); practically taking it away from other orchestras or associations, currently on the brink of collapse without metaphor, which would have been fully entitled to it and would have saved themselves from possible closure: see, for example, the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and also other prestigious associations or entities.
