Not long ago, Ramin Bahrami was on Fabio Fazio's show to promote his recording of Bach's Inventions and Sinfonias. He played some pieces with the sheet music in front of him (which in itself is not a problem... but do you need sheet music to play a couple of Inventions that you have even recorded?).
The quality was depressing. Many intermediate piano students would have played better than him, both in terms of technique and interpretation (every cadence was a punch in the stomach). The piano was also out of tune. It seems to me like an additional mockery: "classical music" on television is never listened to, and when it is listened to, it is presented at an abysmal level of quality. At this point, it's better to say "no, thank you".
