I find George Shearing's beautiful performance to be lovely. Am I the only one who feels a strong resemblance to Chopin ("Nocturne Op. 9 No.2 in E-flat minor")? Is it just my impression, or can one actually hear Chopin's shadow? I would be grateful for any further information, if possible.

Thank you

I don't hear Chopin in general; okay, the accompaniment is all arpeggios ... as in so much Chopin but that's where it stops

Rather, around 3:30 there is a beautiful reminiscence of Bach, BWV 147, so dear to many jazz musicians.
