Three-year degree admission — Pianoconcerto Forum

Good evening guys,

A friend of mine would like to attempt admission to the three-year degree program (first-level academic diploma course) for piano.

I am writing to ask you for information regarding the admission program as far as:

- the performance of a composition from the Romantic period

- and as far as the performance of a piece composed from 1900 onwards.

Which compositions would be suitable for the Romantic period and for the piece composed from 1900 onwards?

Could Schubert's Impromptu op. 90 no. 2 be suitable for the Romantic period (or is it for the 5th year?)

As for the sonata from the Classical period, I believe the Pathétique would be more than fine.

I correct myself: I meant Schubert's Impromptu op. 142 no. 3 in B-flat / theme with variations?

These are the "old" ministerial programs; they classify the repertoire by year of difficulty

For composition from 1900 onwards, there is an embarrassment of riches. Don't forget the 21st century; there is an ad hoc section in the forum and you can discover gems like this:

For the performance of a composition from the Romantic period, I would choose a composer from the "strictly" Romantic period. Chopin, why not? But also Schumann, Mendelssohn (one could dare Liszt... like Schubert)
