To remember Ginette Neveu......this exceptional French violinist, who died prematurely in 1949 at the age of 30 in a plane crash. A child prodigy, she won the Wieniawski competition in Warsaw at the age of 16, beating the great David Oistrakh who came in second. A unique and exceptional violinist, described by critics of the time as the "only" female violinist with a powerful sound and masculine passion. Her sensational career was unfortunately cut short by her death.
