Hello everyone and happy holidays. I am presenting the problem to you. Through the hygrometer, I noticed sudden fluctuations in humidity (from 30 to 70% even on the same day). You can imagine the stress the piano is subjected to (a Pleyel produced by Schimmel). The upright (Kawai BL31) seems to be less affected by tuning variations (we replaced the hammer rail with an Abel and had it impregnated), but not by friction and tuning. How can I resolve this? I am also afraid that the instruments might be damaged.
But what if it's too dry? Doesn't the dehumidifier risk drying out the air too much? Often the humidity is below 30%. More rarely above 60% (in this case, airing it out is enough for me). Wouldn't a humidifier be more worthwhile? I don't even know if there are appliances that perform both functions (for the room environment, I'm not talking about those for pianos).
