hello everyone,
i am a young guy passionate about music but also woodworking, and so I have come to the conclusion
that I will become a piano builder.
The problem I have encountered is the lack of schools in Italy that provide training in this sector, so I find myself not knowing
which way to turn.
I am therefore asking you experts in the field for help by asking for some tips.

I am not an expert, but working for other ARTISANS benefits training... which would be done in the field.
It is clear that it would be an investment on your part because I doubt you will come out with much money, given the contracts (if they even give you one).
A few years ago, the Lombardy region had funded organ-building courses; clearly, it is a different field, but the underlying idea is the same.
I, in the absence of schools, would do this... I would side with someone else who has the trade, and if I like it that much, I would even do it for free to achieve my dream.

Unfortunately, in Italy it is difficult to enter this environment; there are no proper schools, laboratories are scarce and, anyway, due to current apprenticeship legislation, they cannot host any apprentices.
What I feel I can recommend is to turn to a factory, and in Italy only two entities remain: Fazioli and Schulze Pollmann.
If I am not mistaken, at the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia in Rome, Mauro Buccitti held a course in this sense... try to find out more, perhaps his contacts are on the website and he will be able to direct you better.

Suppose a catastrophe were to arrive (...only a few months left), after having survived (a difficult feat)... how would I go about building myself a piano?

I don't know if you know it, but there is ITEMM (European Technological Institute for Music Professions) which will be able to guide you, obviously not in Italy, towards the schools intended for this purpose.
