Hello,
I tuned an old grand piano. It was not possible to tune it according to the correct tuning. I ended up with a terrible sound (wrong harmonics?). However, when I tuned the bass lower than required (but good according to my ear), everything went well. Could this be due to the old strings? Who can give me an answer?

Have you ever heard of the 432 Hz tuning fork.... it would seem to be in tune with the vibration of the universe..... these are not fairy tales. Some instruments tuned to this pitch (certainly far from our 440!!!) produce a particular sonic atmosphere. Do some research and you will discover some beautiful things. Greetings to your beautiful land, the Netherlands, which I discovered many years ago and never ceases to fascinate me!!!!

thanks for the answer. However, the grand piano is in use at a jazz club and even if your proposal seems interesting, I don't think the musicians would be happy having to play with other instruments!

If the budget is limited, perhaps it is better to buy a good digital...
