hi everyone,

i wanted to share something with you that might interest you.

in 2010 I purchased a MacBook Pro (15'). over the course of 2 years, there occurred

(strangely, according to people who know what they're talking about) about 5-6 panics, but apart from these

freezes, I have never had any other major problems.

in 2012 (meaning not even 2 months ago) I updated the software and upgraded the memory to 8gb.

from that moment on, the panics have intensified considerably: to be clear, with an average

of 2 per day (for the past 2 months - with peaks of 4 panics per day, without me even

working with some heavy program or with much intensity).

after various conjectures (operating system incompatible with a 2010 mac, conflict with the added ram, etc.) I turned to an assistance center at an apple store (in this case, torino - via roma location) and in 5 minutes they identified the problem.

in essence:

with their software they tested my mac from top to bottom and identified a defect in the video card; to be precise, it is a defect due to an APPLE PRODUCTION ERROR: in 2010 a stock of defective MacBook Pros was produced, so Apple, to resolve the problem, decided to extend the warranty effects for another 2 years. Moral of the story: my video card was replaced with another new and original Apple one at zero cost, completely free (if I had had to pay it would have cost me about 450 euros).

I've been working on it for 2 days now and, so far, still no panics...! ;-D

good evening
