i haven't seen the piano in person yet, he has sent me these photos for now.

i don't know the brand anyway, a German Berlin piano, Renner action which doesn't seem to be in bad shape, it seems like a beautiful specimen to me. what do you think? as soon as I can I will eventually send you more detailed photos.
It could also be a domestic piano with a German brand (I see that the emblem is not cast into the iron, but stuck on top).
The visible part of the soundboard has some cracks; it needs to be determined if they are just superficial or if they involve the entire soundboard plate.
It also needs to be seen whether the area behind the soundboard between the ribs is solid or hollow: in the second case, it should be filled with spruce and glued, to ensure that the soundboard, the filling, and the ribs become a single body; otherwise, the piano will never hold its tuning, as happened with Soulman's.
As for the rest, it remains to be evaluated; seen like this, they all always seem to be in good condition, but when you go to disassemble them, a thousand problems arise that need to be solved. If it is being restored for DIY purposes, it might be acceptable, but investing money is not, because in my opinion, there are other instruments more worthy of recovery.
Hi Giovanni, I will do detailed checks when I see it in person; from the photos, it seems that even the soundboard has some cracks, although in these old pianos I have rarely encountered healthy boards.
