Was Stockhausen a student of Messiaen? I have found conflicting opinions, it wouldn't be bad to have sources available to delve deeper into the matter

In La classe de Messiaen (Christian Bourgois Editeur, 1995) Jean Boivin explains the matter in quite some detail. To simplify a bit: in Darmstadt Stockhausen listens to Mode de valeurs et d'intensités, becomes enthusiastic, decides to go to Paris to study with Messiaen, attends some lessons in which Messiaen analyzes exclusively works by Mozart and Debussy, gets nervous, and returns to Germany. A little too little to say that he was his student!

Even if some sources count Stockhausen among Messiaen's students, in fact Stockhausen himself denies it... then there is also the authoritative text cited by Red.... so it cannot be missed
