very short comment: Kaufmann encores “E lucevan le stelle”, it seems he had done so the previous evening as well. And Gheorghiu got angry... it wouldn't be the first time that Gheorghiu gets angry about her colleagues' encores. Let us remember that 9 times out of 10, operas structurally “allow” encores for tenor arias but not for soprano arias, which, anyway, by tradition, are almost never encored.

I sincerely don't understand the usefulness of it. Why should he get angry about a colleague's encore?
