We wish you a pleasant stay on Pianoconcerto.it, but in the meantime, tell us about yourself...
Hello everyone, I wish you all a Happy Easter. So, I wanted to thank and at the same time compliment this site which has helped me so much in understanding so many things. I am a classically trained pianist, but I have been playing jazz for years. Without rambling too much, I wanted to immediately share with you my joy of having just purchased, after reluctantly selling a Yamaha C3 due to life circumstances, a 1977 Grotrian Steinweg upright model 120. Yesterday I took everything apart and removed the dust from under the keyboard, spread a thin layer of talcum powder, lubricated the pedals with simple Svitol, let's say a general cleaning job... Anyway, I have fallen in love with the instrument, a very beautiful sound; for now, I am letting it settle before proceeding with tuning. I checked thanks to your advice and I must say that the piano has been maintained truly excellently. I would like some advice on hammer voicing (shaving). They don't seem very grooved to me, nor does it seem that it has ever been done since there is a lot of felt even in the extreme highs. I will post photos of the instrument shortly. While waiting for advice, I once again extend my wishes to the entire forum.
