I need to buy a good upright piano for study soon ...I have a limited budget....

I tried a new Yamaha U3 and I didn't like it; the sound is bright/ringing and the keyboard is a bit too soft.

Immediately after, a used Yamaha U1 with a few more years on it... but refurbished with

the action perfectly checked, and it had a very warm and deep sound and the intermediate keyboard.....but I would need your opinion....

Thank you

Hi Claudia,

I have a used U1 from 1975. I've had some problems that you can see in the topic "it's all because of those little strings".

As Hans says, all of those from that period have had that problem. If you decide on that model, make sure of the year of construction or check its condition.

I thank you for the advice, I'm going to go check immediately regarding the problem you mentioned... anyway, I think it isn't that many years old and if it is, it is truly kept very well, including the action ...but I will find out!

Thank you so much ☺️

So watch out for the incriminating cords. If you can, ask to have them checked, perhaps by someone you trust. In case you decide to make the purchase.
