Good evening,

I am about to buy a digital piano.

What should be checked before taking the piano home?

What are the most recurring defects to watch out for?

For example, I saw a video on YouTube in which the digital piano (with a wooden keyboard) had some keys with a slightly lower depth compared to others; furthermore, some had a slightly higher volume than others (given the same touch).

I wouldn't want to realize there is a problem only after bringing it home.

Thank you,

regards.

Are you talking about a used one?

Instinctively, I would tell you that you must check if it works! In the sense... you need to verify that there are no irregularities in the keyboard as you say. And that the sound is precise without anomalies of keys sounding too loud or sounding softer...

Effectively, one of the advantages of digital is that it's either on or off, unlike acoustics where there are many more parameters to control.
