Which piano is most suitable for me?

Hello everyone!

I am a true piano enthusiast, but unfortunately I have never owned one. I have been playing on a good Yamaha keyboard for five years now and I must say that I am a good pianist, modesty aside. I have no trouble playing pieces like Chopin's Fantaisie-Impromptu and Liszt's La Campanella...

I have a good relationship with the keyboard, but every time I happen to play a piano I get emotional! A completely new and exciting sensation!

It seems therefore that the time has come to make a change. Having a piano of my own is my dream, but I have no idea which one would be most suitable for me!

Reading some discussions, I realized that you are the right people to ask!

I have a budget of 3500 euros, but I don't know if that is enough for a good upright piano... so far I have only played on Yamaha pianos; I don't remember the model, but they had a very muffled sound. I prefer a brighter sound, but not too much.

I know that pianos must be tested, but by asking you I will surely know where, and above all which ones to look for!

I can't tell you which outlets are most suitable near Jesi. In a good shop, you will have the chance to try many pianos. Watch my video tutorial on buying a new or used piano. There are some indications that might be useful to you. Anyway, a model that is not too low-end from Yamaha or Kawai could be purchased with that amount. But you could find a good used one from another Western brand or also from the Eastern area. The sound must be open and must last before decaying. Some checks: condition of the strings, hammers (possibly not excessively shaved and respecting the shape). Soundboard without swellings or cracks. Watch the video. Let us know.
