Great idea. I can open an "Opera of the day" section where you can post a different opera daily and comment on it. If a volunteer comes forward, Daniele Piano, if he feels up to it, or others, I will make him the moderator of that section and he can think about how to moderate it... Let me know.
Well... I would be very pleased... but I don't think I am expert enough to be able to select a work and comment on it appropriately as you, certainly more experienced, would do.
But everyone can comment on it as they prefer; I think it is difficult to find an expert who can comment on every work in a formal way. Also due to cost issues... Commenting in depth on a work requires possessing the scores and knowing the work at least very well. We could also just discuss sensations. Is there no one who takes the responsibility of moderating this possible section? If no one volunteers, the proposal must be dropped.
... I write for "L'Opera", the magazine ... as far as basic opera culture goes, I don't consider myself bad, and I have a few fetishes ;-) but every time I have tried to talk about opera on classical music forums I have encountered resistance ... I don't know, if you are brave, I offer myself at least to enliven the section
